Empowered Networks’ Board and our Vice President, Business Operations and Corporate Counsel annually reviews Empowered Networks’ corporate responsibility programs and progress as well as our adherence to Empowered Networks’ overall compliance programs.

Empowered Networks recognizes that the challenges facing the world today warrant active community investment from both public and private sectors. All companies have the potential to help drive social and environmental change and to be active in creating the world in which we want to do business, and the world in which we want to live.

In addition to tackling social and environmental challenges that impact our communities, Empowered Networks recognizes that businesses have an obligation to conduct themselves professionally and in accordance with strong ethical standards. Below we have included principles that guide Empowered Networks in our pursuit of supporting social issues and the ways Empowered Networks leads by example in how we conduct business. It is important to note that the below principles are not meant to describe the full scope of Empowered Networks policies and procedures. More detailed policies and procedures are internally shared with the appropriate members of our team. Additionally, Empowered Networks has implemented a number of policies, which encourage, enable and provide anonymous avenues of communication for reporting any activities that run contrary to Empowered Networks’ commitments.

Business Conduct & Ethics

Empowered Networks is committed to the application of ethical standards in the conduct of its business. It is Empowered Networks’ policy to conduct itself ethically and lawfully in all pursuits and to maintain Empowered Networks’ high standards of business integrity. The Vice President, Business Operations and Corporate Counsel is responsible for providing specific instructions regarding business conduct and ethics. In addition, they direct periodic reviews to ensure compliance with Empowered Networks’ policies and the policies of our customers and vendors.

All Empowered Networks employees must continuously comply with Empowered Networks’ business conduct policies. Any violation of these policies is cause for discipline, including dismissal from the company.

High standards of ethics require hard work and sometimes difficult choices. In order to determine the proper course of action, employees are encouraged to consult with management if they have any question on whether they or another’s actions could violate an Empowered Networks policy. To ensure an open and honest dialogue is maintained between management and employees, Empowered Networks’ management actively communicates with their team members and have implemented an open office environment.

Empowered Networks has a diverse range of customers and vendors, each with their own legal and regulatory requirements and internal policies. We always work with our partners to ensure they continue to meet both their compliance obligations and their own ethnical business guidelines. At a high level, Empowered Networks commits to:

  • Honest Representation in our Advertisements – All of Empowered Networks’ advertising, promotional, marketing and social media material is honest and accurate.
  • Adhering to Anti-Corruption Laws – We restrict gifts and courtesies to our customers (or potential customers) and vendors to ensure we are strictly compliant with local laws against bribery and other behavior that can influence a decision and cause an unfair advantage in a business transaction.
  • Observe Competition Laws – We promote free and fair competition and comply with procurement laws. We do not work, conspire or coordinate with any competitor to fix, restrict, adjust or control prices and we do not take any action which would undermine the integrity and honesty of the bidding process.
  • Complying with Trade Laws – We comply with any applicable economic sanctions, trade embargoes and trade exclusion lists established by the government.

Diversity and Inclusion in the Workplace

Empowered Networks’ talented and diverse team has been fundamental to our success. To respect and value the diversity among our employees and all those with whom we do business, all Empowered Networks employees are expected to foster a work environment free of harassment, discrimination and retaliation. Every member of Empowered Networks’ management team is expected to abide by and promote this principle, and to uphold Empowered Networks’ overall commitment to workforce diversity and inclusion. In addition, Empowered Networks works with our partners to ensure all parties do their best to promote an open and inclusive workplace.

Through our Training/Educational Assistance Policy, Empowered Networks encourages members of our team to pursue educational opportunities to enhance their soft skills and technical competencies. Empowered Networks’ management team and senior staff have decades of combined industry experience between them. In addition to encouraging the pursuit of formal education, Empowered Networks promotes the sharing of knowledge through our emphasis on teamwork and collaboration.

Environmental Considerations

Empowered Networks is committed to creating a socially responsible work environment that contributes to a safe, healthy, and ecologically efficient workplace that is sustainable and contributes to conserving energy and natural resources. We believe that all companies, regardless of size, can promote positive environmental change and can be an environmentally responsible neighbour. Most recently, Empowered Networks implemented a paperless environment in all our offices to promote our conservation efforts.

Empowered Networks strives to continually improve our environmental management systems and performance. All Empowered Networks employees and contractors are expected to follow this policy, promote positive environmental change, and to report any environmental, health or safety concerns to Empowered Networks’ management.

Data & Privacy

Empowered Networks is committed to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of personal information about its employees, contractors, customers, partners and other identifiable individuals. Below are the principles that guide Empowered Networks’ use of personally identifiable information:

  • Control, Consent & Transparency – Empowered Networks will only collect and process personal information fairly, lawfully, and in a transparent manner and will ensure the applicable individual has control over what data they are sharing.
  • Limited Purpose & Minimal Collection – Empowered Networks will only collect and process personal information that is relevant to and necessary for the agreed upon purpose.
  • Safety and Security – Empowered Networks will process and store personal information in a secure and safe manner and will implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to safeguard personally identifiable information.
  • Retention of Data – Empowered Networks will keep data in identification form for only as long as necessary for the purpose for which such personal information was collected.
  • Accurate Records – Empowered Networks will keep accurate, complete and up to date records to enable a party to understand how their data was collected, used and/or disposed of.

Any Empowered Networks employee who comes in contact with information that is personally identifiable in nature must act consistently with the above principles and Empowered Networks’ internal policies and procedures.

Culture of Health & Safety

One of Empowered Networks’ top priorities is the health and safety of our staff. Our ongoing commitment to this priority was recently demonstrated during the initial stages of the COVID-19 pandemic. During that period, we implemented travel restrictions and limited the use of our offices before such actions were mandated by local government. We continue to exercise a cautious approach as restrictions ease and promote an open non-judgmental dialogue between employees and management.

The emphasis we place on this priority supports our commitment to our employees, partners and the communities where we live and work. The goals of our health and safety program include providing a safe and healthy workplace, preventing injuries and illnesses, and providing resources for employees so they too can promote a culture of health and safety.

Empowered Networks’ staff only participates in politics as private citizens, never on behalf of Empowered Networks. Empowered Networks does not make contributions of resources such as money, goods or services to political candidates or parties.
